Stories of Water Ancient and Modern

This 3-day cross-curricular programme for Classes 3-5 begins at school, reflecting on important questions such as ‘where does our water come from before the tap?’, ‘what are some of the water problems in our city?’ and ‘how can we be the change?’ Kids make bar charts to show where everyone’s water comes from.

On Day 2, we visit the Hauz Khas tank, looking back at the way Alauddin Khilji had thought of his city’s water needs in the 13th Century! The children imagine they were students there at the time there was a madrassa and think about how they might use the water.

Day 3, we come back to school and work in groups to brainstorm how we might be able to tackle issues of water in our city, in our country, in our world!
